Frequent Asked Questions
Can you share any GradGov Senator information for selecting new Senators for this school year?
We are running centralized elections, so all students will submit a program-specific Senator application, which will then be accessible to all other members of their program/ students they would represent. Then, the students from each program will vote on who their representatives will be.
a. Some programs may run their own elections. In this case, only the representatives voted by their program should submit a formal application for Senator to GradGov. Please be mindful of this by checking in with your program!
I am an online student, can I still join GradGov?
Yes! Being an online student is not a limitation, you can join from all over the world! Our meetings are all hybrid, and we love to have leaders that represent our student body to help us engage everyone equally.
What if I want to join in but I can’t attend all Senate meetings?
No worries. Under our Constitution, if you cannot attend a meeting you can send a representative of your program. Your colleague is your proxy!
I would love to join, but I can’t commit to too many hours.
Same! We are students first, so we are committed to ensure all our Senators and Directors to spend up to five hours per week.
I want to join, but I’m already leading another student government, can I still join?
Of course! Many our leaders are leading other groups, in fact, this helps to increase communication and collaboration across schools and student groups.
