Dear Fellow Students,
My name is Alexander Plum, and I am the President of the Graduate Student Government (GradGov). It is great to virtually meet you. On behalf of myself and the rest of the GradGov Executive Board, I would like to welcome you to Georgetown University!
I am reaching out to invite you to kick-off the 2016-17 academic year by joining us at the annual Graduate Student Orientation. Orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 30th at the Lohrfink Auditorium in the Rafik B. Hariri Building. It will start at 9:00 a.m. and conclude with Georgetown’s annual Welcome Back Jack BBQ at 1:00 p.m. on Healy Lawn. I will have the pleasure of introducing myself and the Graduate Student Government, so I look forward to meeting you in person.
Right after the BBQ, join us for Orientation Day campus tours, beginning at 2:30 p.m. If you are interested, please click here to claim a ticket. You must have a ticket to participate. Although tickets are free, tour size is limited. Available spots will fill up, so register soon.
Once you arrive in D.C., stay in touch and engage in campus life. Look for GradGov’s weekly emails throughout the academic year, join the Incoming Georgetown Graduate Students 2016-2017 Facebook Group, and follow the Graduate Student Government on both Facebook and Twitter. Each of these forums are filled with important information and are used to promote events for graduate students around campus, so they can be a great way to stay up-to-date and engaged.
In the meantime, please feel free to continue browsing our website to learn more about Georgetown graduate student life.
Finally, I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer. See you soon, and Hoya Saxa!
